Compass
The discovery engine behind Atelier: a tool I built to turn customer interviews into evidence, and evidence into a product decision.

Compass is where I run customer discovery for Atelier. It turns scattered research conversations into structured evidence, scores which problems actually matter, and shapes them into an opportunity-solution tree. The product thinking is the brain; this tool is the memory and the math.
I am a solo operator on the discovery side, with no team to debate with, and I did not want the most important thinking, what to build and why, living in scattered docs and gut feel.
So I built the system that plays that role: a second brain that argues back. It forces rigour by making me justify why one problem beats another, and it keeps me honest by flagging when an idea drifts off the strategy.
Compass is a live canvas for discovery. Each interview becomes a structured artefact as the conversation happens, and the whole picture rolls up into a defensible product decision:
- Capture: map workflows and flag pains by severity during the call, then segment findings by creative archetype
- Score: rank problems by severity, frequency and willingness to pay, so the priority is evidence-based, not a hunch
- Shape: roll opportunities into a Teresa Torres style opportunity-solution tree, with a decision and action log underneath

It is a real working tool that has already done its job. So far it holds nine mapped interviews and over three hundred individual pain points, rolled into a clean three-branch opportunity tree that all ladders up to one goal: recover admin time.
It carried a clear front-runner, money admin and getting paid, all the way to a first invoicing PRD. That is exactly why Atelier leads with getting creatives paid. The strategy is legible and evidence-backed, not stuck in my head.
I built it solo with AI. But the real point is what building it forced: designing the scoring model and the opportunity tree was the strategy work. The tool and the thinking were the same act.
Most teams build on opinion and find out later. I bring a discovery discipline that turns customer conversations into a ranked, defensible case for what to build first, and I can build the lightweight tooling that makes that rigour stick in your organisation.
